1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone, ID documents for KYC), information generated by your use of Viharam (bookings, reviews, messages), and technical data (IP address, device type, browser).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Process bookings and payments
  • Verify host and ambassador identities
  • Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders)
  • Improve platform safety and detect fraud
  • Comply with applicable laws

3. Data Sharing

We share minimal necessary data with hosts and ambassadors to facilitate your booking (name, phone, party size). We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use Resend for email delivery and standard cloud infrastructure for hosting.

4. ID Verification Data

ID numbers (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) are stored encrypted and masked in all API responses. Only authorised admin personnel can view unmasked ID data for verification purposes.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Booking records are retained for 7 years for legal/tax compliance. Audit logs are retained for 1 year. You may request deletion of your account data subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion (where legally permitted), port your data, and withdraw consent for marketing. Contact privacy@viharam.in to exercise these rights.

7. Cookies

We use an httpOnly authentication cookie for session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, rate limiting, input validation, and regular security audits.

9. Children

Viharam is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Changes

We will notify you of material changes to this policy by email and by displaying a notice on the platform.
